Produced in the familar format of scary murder mysteries, The Haunting Hour joined the parade of dark and eerie fog shrouded shows. The twenty-six transcribed half hour dramas were first syndicated and distributed in 1945 by NBC's Radio Recording Division.

The series featured dramatic casts drawn from a pool of familiar radio character actors.
