The Green Hornet
The Green Hornet was a popular American radio Juvenile Detective Series which ran for more than a decade. It's first broadcase was January 31st 1936 and it ended on December 5th 1952.
Distinguished by its use of classical music for themes and for bridges between scenes, not least "Flight of the Bumblebee," composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, for its title theme, The Green Hornet was "one of radio's best-known and most distinctive juvenile adventure shows."[2] The series detailed the adventures of Britt Reid, debonair newspaper publisher by day, crime-fighting masked hero at night.
"With his faithful valet Kato, Britt Reid, daring young publisher, matches wits with the Underworld, risking his life so that criminals and racketeers within the law may feel its weight by the sting of the Green Hornet!"

Scoots Brew's New Look
As stated above, we've been around since 1997. This hobby has been one of the most enjoyable things I've personally ever done. Back in early 1997 I suffered a second bout of Pneumonia. It happened the first time at the end of 1996. The doctors told me complete bed rest. My lovely wife brought down a radio for me to listen to because I could not sleep and had to sleep on the couch because I wasn't allowed to use stairs. Well, I found When Radio Was... and my love affair with the Golden Age of Radio began.
Many years later I've now collected more than 60,000 shows and I've made them available since 1997 via this website. Well the original design has hung around for 14 years and it's time to freshen it's look a little, well ok, a lot.
All the same great content is there but it now becomes much easier for me to maintain as I enter my own 'Golden Years'.
We sincerely hope you enjoy your stay. If you find something you like we hope you'll purchase it as I believe once you listen you won't stop :)
