Jack Carson began hi scareer in vaudeville in the early 1930s. His stage partner, Dave Willock, was also his constant suporting player on the air. An apperance on Bing Crosby's Kraft Music Hall in 1938 led Carson and Willock into radio. Crosby's announcer, Ken Carpenter, recommended him for the host's job on the NBC West Coast series Signal Carnival, and this led to Carson's nationwide series on CBS. _{John Dunning}
